Dr. Carroll, DC is a skilled practitioner of several adjustive techniques including manual adjusting, Thompson (using drop pieces), Activator (light force), Toggle Upper Cervical, Flexion/Distraction (for the treatment of spinal degeneration, or arthritis, and disc herniations) and extremity adjusting (shoulders, wrists, ankles, knees, etc.). Whether you prefer a traditional adjustment or a light force technique, we are able to accommodate you.
We currently offer several physiotherapy modalities including electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, and myofascial work. Electrical muscle stimulation is designed to perform the different tasks of reducing muscle tension/spasm, reducing inflammation, and stimulating your body’s natural pain killers. Ultrasound is also used to reduce muscle tension and inflammation. Myofascial work is designed to break up trigger points and muscular adhesions that reduce the function of the muscle and cause pain.
Spinal Rehabilitative Exercises
Many factors lead to weakness or imbalance within the stabilizing muscles of the spine. This is especially true in our lives today due to our busy schedules and increased computer use. Because of this, our spines are not supported properly, predisposing us to injuries and spinal misalignment. Through a series of spinal and core stability exercises, we are able to strengthen these muscles, support the spine, rehabilitate past injuries, and prevent many future injuries. We highly encourage you to perform exercises for your spine on a daily basis and are happy to instruct you on simple things you can do to improve your spinal health. It’s like brushing your teeth, but for a part of your body that can’t be drilled, filled, or replaced.
